Detachment of tiles in floors
POTENTIAL CAUSES OF THE PROBLEM
a) An absorbent substrate led to failure of the adhesive
b) Faulty application or complete lack of primer
c) Incorrect choice of adhesive
d) Inflow of moisture to the substrate, because of cracked grouts
e) Application to unsuitable conditions (temperature> 35 ° C)
f) Stay of the adhesive to the application surface (without laying tiles) for a long time
SOLUTION
- Control of detached tiles
- Removal of the adhesive beneath the plate and the surface of application
- Good cleaning of the substrate from loose and powders
- If local repair needed , this can be done with repairing plaster WRM 550 for masonry and repairing mortar WRM 525 for floors.
- Prime the application surface with high penetrating acrylic primer GLX 292 FLEX PRIM
- Apply appropriate tile adhesive, depending on the application (wall, floor) and the type of tile
- Apply porcelain grout texture FMF 160
