Inauguration of the new THRAKON mortar factory in Inofyta

THRAKON inaugurated the sixth factory in Inofyta of Viotia. The new factory is the most modern mortar production factory in Greece, as this is the culmination of our commitment to the market and the growth prospects we are looking forward to, both for the company and for the country as a whole.

The inauguration took place on Monday, November 27, 2023 at the factory premises, with a celebratory event for employees, customers, partners and journalists, while Ms. Vasiliki Loizou, Secretary General of Private Investments, was also present as a representative of the Prime Minister. In addition, the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, welcomed the event from Brussels, where he is these days.

THRAKON’s new factory has a production capacity of 300.000 tons per year and is designed following the best industrial practices, while also including the most modern mechanical equipment. At the same time, this new state-of-the-art facility has vertically integrated production, with the production process starting from the crushing of calcium carbonate, sieving and the production of many different fractions and ending with the mixing and packaging of the final product. Planning for the new plant began in March 2018 and took 3 years, with excavation and construction starting in January 2022.

THRAKON has a total of 6 factories in Greece. More specifically, 3 factory units are located in Orestiada, which produce mortars, autoclaved YTONG cellular concrete and expanded polystyrene. Another mortar production plant is located in Chalkidona, while two factory units operate in the Oinofyta area, with one producing paints and liquid products and the second being the most modern mortar production plant in Greece.
