DESMOFLEX® Top Coat
Description
DESMOFLEX® Top Coat polyurethane, is a two component coating (Component A+B) with unaffected whiteness and gloss, suitable for the long-term protection of roofs, rooms, balconies and asphalt, EPDM or PVC membranes that have been prior sealed with DESMOFLEX® PU. It provides excellent mechanical, thermal, chemical and UV resistance as well as protection against frost and chalk.

- Used over the DESMOFLEX PU on surfaces, with domestic pedestrian traffic (e.g. Roofs, Terraces, Residential Walkways) that require a glossy, color-stable and nonchalking finish

Application Steps
Careful surface preparation is essential for optimum finish and durability. The surface needs to be clean, dry and sound, free of any contamination, which may harmfully affect the adhesion of the membrane. Maximum moisture content should not exceed 5%. New concrete structures need to dry for at least 28 days. Old, loose coatings, dirt, fats, oils, organic substances and dust need to be removed by a grinding machine. Possible surface irregularities need to be smoothened. Any loose surface pieces and grinding dust need to be thoroughly removed.
Step 2WARNING: Do not wash surface with water! After approx. 6-12 hours (not later than 24 hours) and while the DESMOFLEX EPOXY PRIMER is still a bit tacky, apply the polyurethane coating DESMOFLEX PU.
Step 3Poor enough of DESMOFLEX PU onto the prepared and primed surface and lay out by roller or brush. Continue with the same way till the surface for waterproofing is fully covered.
Step 4After 12 hours (till 48 hours), apply another layer of DESMOFLEX PU. For bigger surfaces, apply a third layer of the product.
Step 5High humidity may affect the final finish. 12-24 hours after the last application layer of DESMOFLEX PU apply the DESMOFLEX TOP COAT by roller or airless spray in one or two layers.
Step 6Allow 5-12 hours (not more than 36 hours) to apply the second layer.
Step 7For best results, the temperature during application and cure should be between 5oC and 35oC. Low temperatures retard cure while high temperature speeds up curing
Storage
Pails should be stored in dry and cool rooms for up to 36 months.
