External masonry waterproofing with 3-layer plaster system

What do we need?

The outer surfaces of the plaster is absorbent to water, resulting in formation of mold and dirt on the walls. Beyond these, moisture creates many problems in the inner surfaces of the homes.

How do we do it?

The waterproofing of external surfaces of buildings made ​​using the ready water-repellent plaster of THRAKON which prevent the infiltration of rainwater while allowing breathability of the masonry.

For greater protection, we can apply the plaster system, three layers using water-repellent coating on the implementation of the third layer.

Step by step

  • Ensure that the substrate is dry, solid, sound and free from loose particles, dust, paints, waxes and oils.
  • Cut and remove any protrusions of metallic reinforcement in depth 1 cm from the surface and prime. Before the start of the application, wetting the surfaces thoroughly with water. Highly absorbent substrates (e.g. aerated concrete) should be primed with acrylic primer GLX 290.
