What do we need?

Many times in cement casting purposes applicable to terraces, after hardening , created hairline cracks (<1mm). Sometimes there are cracks in the masonry of the contact points.

Even there may be an increased porosity of the concrete. In all these cases there is water leakage from the surface to the plate and to the inner surfaces resulting in the formation of moisture and mold walls and destruction of color. Even can occur much more severe problems such as corrosion of the reinforcement plate which is dangerous for the statics of the construction.

How do we do it?

Because cracks on terraces and much more connections between surfaces show contraction for the insulation used flexible 2-component brushable DSF 353 SUPER ELASTIC, which has excellent resistance to normal patency and enforcement of loads.

Waterproofing fiberglass mesh

Step by step

• Remove loose from the concrete slab.
• Wash and remove any molds and algae that have been developed to the plate surface.
• Prime all surfaces with high penetration  acrylic primer GLX 292 FLEX Prim. Large cracks (> 5 mm) and gaps close with fiber reinforced repairing mortar WRM 525. At the corners of the barriers to the plate, creating with WRM 518 appropriate curve so as not to gather the water to this point. When surfaces thoroughly dry,  apply with a roller or a stiff brush , waterproofing brushable two-component mortar DSF 353 SUPER ELASTIC, three layers crosswise. We suggest the white product in order to protect the surface of application from the ultraviolet rays of the sun. When applying the first coat and while it is still fresh , place the waterproofing fiberglass mesh (70 g / m2). Each sheet of the mesh should overlap with the next by 10 cm.
• Then apply the next two layers. Each layer is applied over the preceding when it is dry.
• The application of the material should be avoided when rain is forecast for the following day of application. The surfaces that have been applied DSF 353 SUPER ELASTIC may have slightly patency next day , while normal patency seven days after application.
