What do we need?

The floors having floor heating show strong contractions resulting the slab can not follow the movements of the substrate and fail causing cracking or peeling of the tiles.

How do we do it?

Ideal solution are adhesives with increased elasticity like VKW 128 or VKW 129 and grouts FMF 150 and FMF 160 LUX reinforced with improver additive VLX 186.

Step by step

1. To prepare the surface and applying the adhesive see the Guidelines for Adhesives.
2. For filling and leveling of the floor should be used cement NSD 600 reinforced with improver additive (Latex) GLX 296 which is added to the water mixture in a ratio water: GLX 296 = 1: 3 to 1: 2.
3. For grouting use grouts of THRAKON reinforced with improver additive VLX 186 which is added to the water mixture in a ratio water: VLX 186 = 1: 3.
4. The floors grouting and patency is allowed after 24 hours, while the wall grouting is allowed after 12 hours.

Signs of the application that need special attention:

• The most important point in the application of tiles on floors that have underfloor heating systems is the provision for expansion and contraction of the system. Some basic rules for harmoniously mutually cooperating mechanics – building system:
• It must be provided with expansion joints in spaces less than 40m2. The relationship between sides should not exceed 1: 2. The joints are filled with use of polyurethane mastic ELASTO-PU and the corresponding string support joint closed cell BAKER ROD.
• Strip of insulation with thickness of at least 1 cm, must cover construction ( contact points floor – wall) to discharged dilations of the coated surface.
• Before bonding the tiles (no earlier than 21 days) we operate the heating and we reserve three days gradually increasing the temperature to 25-28 C. Then close the heating and after 24 hours we can move in welding tile.
